Reducing our carbon footprint goes in hand with maintaining and promoting food quality, nutrition and healthy eating. A healthy diet is also more environmentally sustainable, as it is associated to lower greenhouse gas emissions, lower use of freshwater and land mass.*
Our task force said that they’d like to see more plant-based options on our menu and have them easily identified. This idea was identified and taken to the next level during the development of the new restaurant at Burleigh Court, Fifty The Street.
Fifty’s name comes from the fact that 50% of the menu is plant-powered with the dishes being plant-based. On the menu, this is also signified by the plant-powered logo.
At the Elite Athlete Centre, their menu is based on nutrition and fuelling guests with plant-based protein alongside other proteins.
The next step is for the task force to explore how we implement this in our other venues.
