When there's room for guests, there's Room For Trees!
Our new "Room For Trees" initiative is dedicated to converting hotel stays into newly planted trees.
Partnering with Hotels For Trees - a not-for-profit foundation - we will be offering guests the choice of whether to have their room cleaned or to skip cleaning and have a tree planted instead. Not only does this indirectly offset some of the guests' carbon footprint for their stay, it also saves massively on water consumption and use of cleaning chemicals.
In some locations, the tourism industry uses over eight times more water per person on average than the local population, and water scarcity affects more than 40% of the global population.
In line with our Sustainability value, we want to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
